Our factory

All our products are made in Cheshire, UK at our Stalybridge factory. These pictures show the main stages in the making our down sleeping bags, clothing and accessories.

Marking out a pattern Cutting fabric Our down testing machine
A pattern is marked out on the cutting table. The marked fabric is cut.

Our 'Lorch' down testing machine enables us to assess the quality of our down to a very high degree of accuracy.

In our sewing room Down filling room cleaning down with an air host
Once cut, the patterns are taken to the sewing area for initial assembly. Once partly sewn, down gear is filled in our sealed down room. Down gets everywhere, so thorough cleaning is important, with a compressed air hose.

Quality control PHD gear being packaged for dispatched
Once filled with down, the sleeping bag or jacket is returned to the sewing area for final assembly. Products are checked before being packaged for dispatch. Size really does matter.
