Description

A special version of our Wafer Down Jacket designed with Autumn mountain marathons, like the Mourne Mountain Marathon and Original Mountain Marathon (OMM), in mind.

Water-resistant Ultrashell outer fabric has been added to cope with the chilly nights and damp dawns of the autumn season. Lightweight zipped hand-warmer pockets complete the specification.

Only available September and October 2017.

Technical

Ultrashell (weight: 40gsm)

The lightest of PHD's coated materials. This ripstop nylon provides complete wind block and good water resistance at minimal weight. Ultrashell gives an excellent upgrade to performance with very little weight penalty. Order samples of this fabric & just pay the postage.

Ultralight 10X fabric (weight: 26 gsm)

10X, PHD's First 10 Denier Fabric. 9,000 metres of the yarn used to weave 10X weighs just 10g, that's about the same as a £1 coin! For all its thinness 10X is amazingly downproof and with reasonable care will go on giving you good service for years. Order samples of this fabric & just pay the postage.

950 Fillpower Down

A newcomer to our range. European goose of rare quality. A high value alternative at the top levels of performance. More on our down insulation.

Sizing

Standard clothing sizing chart

Weight shown is for medium (M) size.

The PHD Sizing Chart below is based on measurements without clothing, exactly the way you would buy a shirt, a sweater or a pair of trousers. A 42" (107cm) chest means that your bare chest uninflated measures 42". Inside Arm is measured from armpit to wrist-bone and Inside Leg from crutch to ankle bone. If you find that you fall between (or across) these sizings, please contact us and we will quote you for modifications needed. Modifications cannot be made to sale items, bargain box items or other products not offered at full price. And if you are supplying us with your measurements, it is always useful for us to know your height, even when you are only buying a jacket.

Reviews

"Performed brilliantly. The hood was a great fit and tight enough to the face to keep off wind. Absolutely incredible warmth / weight ratio, could not be more impressed. Minimal packed bulk meant it could be kept in a rucksack pocket for easy access when temperatures dropped. I honestly cannot suggest improvement for this product. Having lost my waterproof jacket during a sudden evacuation of high camp I found myself descending in white out snowing conditions expecting to have to stop and switch to other gear soon enough but the water resistance held for the entire day. Incredible stuff and a great addition to any winter arsenal."
