Pete Elliott in Yorkshire Dales, 3°C

Pete says:

"Wafer Jacket & Socks were noticeably very warm and I slept well till 12:30 a.m. Then legs started to feel a little cold and I decided to get out at 1.00 a.m. If I'd stayed, I think I would have definitely felt cold by 2:00 a.m. and would have wanted Wafer Trousers. With the Trousers I would probably have slept OK right through."

Technical Note: The Filler bag is rated at +15°C used on its own, and at +10°C with Wafer clothing. On this occasion the temperature fell to 3°C which showed just how warm the Wafer clothing can be as an inner and what a bad idea it is to ignore the lower half of the body.

* Pete wore lightweight trekking trousers, a thin Merino vest, and a GoreTex hat inside his Filler sleeping bag.
