Also available in custom sizes. We make clothing to order, so if you’re not a standard size we can make it to fit. To order a non-standard custom size, select the Custom Sizing tab, choose your body width, and then the body/arm lengths, shorter or longer, that work for you. A custom size takes us a little longer (typically two weeks longer) to make and, because it’s personalized, it’s non-returnable and our customer loyalty scheme can’t be applied.

The Omega is the warmest Jacket that PHD makes. An incredible refuge of a Jacket, the Omega is the choice for the very coldest mountains and the worst Polar conditions. A fully waterproof outer protects the down on long and arduous expeditions.

HS2 is a lightweight, wind- and water-proof, breathable fabric that’s the first layer of protection in truly inhospitable conditions. A huge depth of down insulation and a differential cut designed to allow full lofting delivers an immensely high-performing Jacket.

Five expedition pockets, a large helmet-compatible hood, Velcro-adjusted cuffs and elasticated hem allow complete lockdown in whiteouts, and the option of filling with 950 down pushes the Typical Operating Temperature down to -59°C.

Tempest outer fabric remains an option for trips where extra durability is the most important factor.

As used by Sir Ranulph Fiennes on the first Trans-Antarctic Winter Expedition - the Coldest Journey, the BBC's Tribe team in Siberia, by the Ice Warrior team, and many others.

950 fillpower down

A newcomer to our range. European goose of rare quality. A high value alternative at the top levels of performance. More on our down insulation.

900 Fillpower Down

European goose down of very high quality. A truly excellent down with large clusters, consistent quality and lively long-term performance. More on our down insulation.

Waterproof HS2 outer fabric (weight: 88 gsm)

HS2 is a 2-layer laminate, a high-spec option for the outer layer of our insulated gear. This ripstop fabric strikes an excellent balance between lightness and durability. It is light enough for our Belay tops and tough enough for expedition use in our Omega clothing, while the Kappa clothing makes full use of both its qualities. HS2 is completely waterproof (when the seams are taped) and offers excellent breathability. (Weight: 88gsm).

Tough waterproof Tempest outer fabric (weight: 160 gsm)

A technically advanced waterproof breathable material. 100% Nylon. Good abrasion and tear resistance, yet offering high flexibility for such a tough material.

"The Omega jacket was brilliant! [For example, when I stopped] I pulled out the Omega Jacket and lay over my sled with the hood up and my back to the wind and I had a 45-minute power nap before pushing on. The jacket protected me perfectly and meant I could get a quality nap before pushing on. Having kit perform like that sticks in the mind - it was great!"
Mark Hines using the bag to complete the 1000-mile footrace of the Iditarod Trail Invitational

"I purchased an Omega jacket from PHD about two years ago, which I absolutely love!!!! It was perfect for my 7 week trip to Mt. Vinson and the South Pole."
Lance Metz.

"The work that goes into something like this is immense, having seen the process and the methods of bringing the raw materials together to produce the finished item, it's actually rather inspiring."
