Also available in custom sizes. We make clothing to order, so if you’re not a standard size we can make it to fit. To order a non-standard custom size, select the Custom Sizing tab, choose your body width, and then the body/arm lengths, shorter or longer, that work for you. A custom size takes us a little longer (typically two weeks longer) to make and, because it’s personalized, it’s non-returnable and our customer loyalty scheme can’t be applied.

The Alpamayo Jacket is made with our HS3 3-layer fabric, lighter, more waterproof and more breathable than ever before. The two-way front zip is covered by a storm flap with Velcro closure to give maximum weatherproofing. The wired peak on the hood provides effective protection when closed down with or without a helmet. The cut is generous, to go over a lightweight down jacket such as the Minimus K or Yukon.

With two large chest pockets covered by waterproof YKK Aquaseal zips and good arm-lift this is a deliberately simple piece of kit designed for hassle-free use in action. A lightweight jacket, but one you can take with confidence into extreme situations.

Also available in a lighter 'smock' style.

Waterproof HS3 outer fabric (weight: 115 gsm)

HS3 is a 3-layer laminate, the new fabric for our Alpamayo shell gear. The old argument that a 2-layer fabric with a separate mesh inner was both more flexible and more breathable than a 3-layer has been overtaken by the performance of current 3-layers such as HS3. This new ripstop fabric also removes the disadvantages of mesh (which snags on velcro and can form an ice-trap in extreme cold) and makes the gear considerably lighter. HS3 is fully waterproof and offers excellent breathability.

YKK AquaSeal® zips

Successfully used for years on dry suits and marine sportswear, these AquaSeal® zips are the only fully waterproof zips we know light enough for clothing. No rain flaps are needed.

"The material feels durable but soft and its ample dimensions made it a pleasure to wear. Its waterproof (and windproof) qualities were first rate and tested to their fullest during a particularly unpleasant spell in the Alps weatherwise. The inside layer also feels like it isn't going to flake away as often happens. The hood is supported by a wire which makes it particularly useful when the going gets wet and windy ... Overall, a top notch jacket which does the job excellently, looks very smart."

"A quick note to say thank you for the incredible kit I purchased from you a few months ago. I have recently returned from a research expedition in Antarctica and used the Alpamayo jacket on numerous occasions during shore landings and when caught in blizzards. It functioned perfectly as part of a multi-layer system and not once did my inner layers get wet - even after being caught in fairly aggressive weather out on the zodiacs. Have attached a picture from Port Charcot."

"I have just come back from Chile, where I climbed Ojos Del Salado, the highest active volcano in the world (6893m). [I was] wearing an Alpamayo jacket and salopettes ... All the equipment I bought from you worked fantastically well, and I have recommended your gear to anyone who will listen."

"I purchased one of your Alpamayo jackets a couple of years ago. I have been very impressed."
