This Midwinter Sigma Jacket is cut longer in body than our standard Sigma Jacket to reduce cold air ingress around the lower back. Another difference with this Midwinter version is the use of our lightweight 2-layer breathable fabric, our waterproof Cascade, which gives increased protection from the damp. The insulated, zipped chest pocket is useful for a phone or GPS.

Like our standard Sigma Jacket, the long sleeve length offers superb protection during the cold, damp conditions of a winter bike ride or icy mountain climb.

As with all our Sigma gear, this jacket uses high performance 100g Primaloft Gold synthetic insulation, edge-stitched for maximum loft. Quilting techniques are not used so valuable loft isn't lost.

In our experience, the 100gsm Primaloft Gold® synthetic insulation absorbs water much more slowly than other synthetic waddings, a marked advantage in cold, wet conditions.

Cascade (weight: 100 gsm)

A high-spec fabric for the outer layer of our insulated gear. 100% Nylon, providing an excellent balance between lightness, durability and breathability. Cascade is completely waterproof (when the seams are taped)

Lightweight M1 fabric (weight: 39 gsm)

Lightweight silky microfibre. This close-weave 20 denier fabric is fully downproof, but also light and flexible enough to allow the down full loft. A reliable performer that has been the basis for much of our lightweight gear for some time.


Primaloft Gold®

Primaloft Gold® is the ideal microfibre insulation. Ultrafine fibres produce an insulating core that is incredibly soft, lightweight and water resistant. In our experience it absorbs water much more slowly than other waddings, a marked advantage in wet-cold conditions.

The nearest of the synthetics to the feel of down, yet tougher than you would expect. Primaloft Gold® offers the best warmth/weight performance in the Primaloft range
