A superb Ultralight Kingsize Quilt, made from PHD's exceptional 900 fill power down and our lightweight M1 fabric. Featherweight on the bed at home, a wonderful lightweight way to add to your comfort in camp.

The Kingsize quilt is a versatile camp companion. Use it in place of a lightweight bag on summer nights or wrap it around you if you're sitting out. In colder weather it works as an extra layer to put over your sleeping bag at night. The lightweight M1 fabric is super soft and cosy. Or choose the optional Ultrashell fabric, (a water-resistant material) to help protect the down from condensation drips in a tent. However you want to use it, the side loops allow you to fix your own attachments to hold it in place.

The single quilt offers the same range of possibilities to one person, with an additional Footbag option.

At Home

This quilt is a new way to add extra warmth on your bed virtually without adding any weight. M1 is 75% lighter than the cambric used to make ordinary quilts and 900 down is more than 50% loftier than the down in most 'pure down' quilts. So, whether you want a quick boost for a chilly night or you just like the airy feeling of minimum weight over you at night, this Ultra Quilt offers a very different alternative to conventional quilts.

Note: This quilt has been designed to be as warm as possible for minimum weight. As it is open, it is not possible to give it a temperature rating, but like our ultralight sleeping bags, when used on its own outdoors it is a summer item. If combined with a sleeping bag outdoors, or with other bedding at home, it can add significant extra warmth. On the bed at home the quilt's M1 cover slides more easily than normal bedding fabrics. If you are not using a lightweight top sheet or cover, you may want to make use of the tie loops to ensure that the quilt stays in place.

Dispatch time: As with all PHD products, these are made to order and by hand. We estimate it will take us around 4 to 6 weeks to make and dispatch sale orders. During busy periods it may take a little longer.

Ultrashell (weight: 40 gsm)

One of the lightest of PHD's coated materials. This ripstop nylon provides complete wind block and good water resistance at minimal weight. Ultrashell gives an excellent upgrade to performance with very little weight penalty.

Lightweight M1 fabric (weight: 39 gsm)

Lightweight silky microfibre. This close-weave 20 denier fabric is fully downproof, but also light and flexible enough to allow the down full loft. A reliable performer that has been the basis for much of our lightweight gear for some time.

900 Fillpower Down

European goose down of very high quality. A truly excellent down with large clusters, consistent quality and lively long-term performance. More on our down insulation.

"It's weightless, you just don't feel it's there and the insulation is incredible. The silky fabric doesn't bind to other fabrics either, so although we just had it thrown over the top of our duvet without any ties, the Ultra tended to stay in place, our movement not affecting it much. It is a proper bit of outdoor kit and after 100 nights I would have no hesitation in packing this. It's light, adaptable, made of top class materials and the bottom line is that it's really bloody warm."
Peter Macfarlane (a.k.a. Petesy).

"About 12 years ago, with a stroke of luck that escapes most climbers, I found myself married to a girl whose heart was in the mountains like mine. But the marital bed was not all roses, the marital bed was sleeping bags. Not good. But simply solved. You guys at PHD came to the rescue when we ordered a pair of 2m x 2m duvets made using the very latest technology, the lightest sleeping bag fabric filled with your very best quality goose down. Within two years we had spent close to 90 days in our tent, climbing in Ethiopia, surfing in Cornwall etc We have slept in the open, under one and on the other and despite our warmth, shaken the ice from the top duvet as we awoke. Although we are extremely well-equipped for the outdoors, of all the gear, it is these two duvets that have been coveted the most. Thank you for the quality you have added to our outdoor adventures."
David and Katie (Iota Climbing).

"It's a lot more versatile than a sleeping bag - can be used by two people, one person, as a round-the-shoulders wrap on chilly evenings and is more comfy for sleeping as you don't feel restricted. Reckon it would be great also for trekking and staying in hostels and huts."
Sarah Stirling, Adventure travel writer, Trip to New Zealand and Australia (Fraser Island).
