Beautifully light and efficient, the Minim range of sleeping bags are selected by light-weight backpackers, lightweight mountaineers, and marathon racers with a keen eye on weight and pack size.

This special Minim 200 is available in lightweight M1 fabric and makes a great choice for anyone looking for a bag warmer than our Ultra and lighter than our Minim 400.

This is not a bag we make as standard--you can only buy it via our 'Design Your Own Sleeping Bag' website, where it would cost you £401. That's 26% off, a full £116 saving.

Technical specifications are as our Minimus bag: no zip, no side-block baffles, no compromise. The continuous box wall baffles allow down to be moved from the base to the top giving greater control over warmth and comfort.

Made to order and by hand, this bag comes with Short, Standard and Long Length options, as well as Slim, Standard and Wide Width option, so you get the perfect fit and the best possible warmth to weight ratio. And, as we are making these sleeping bags to order, you can select either Short or Full-length side-zips on the left or right sides.

Dispatch time: As with all PHD products, these are made to order and by hand. We estimate it will take us around 4 to 6 weeks to make and dispatch sale orders. During busy periods it may take a little longer.

Lightweight M1 fabric (weight: 39 gsm)

Lightweight silky microfibre. This close-weave 20 denier fabric is fully downproof, but also light and flexible enough to allow the down full loft. A reliable performer that has been the basis for much of our lightweight gear for some time.

Sleeping bag zips

  • No zip: The standard design on our lightest bags with open hoods. The simplest/lightest system which is a must for adventure racers. Up to 140gm (5oz) lighter than a full zip with draft tube.
  • Full zips: Full zip bags ventilate well, so they can be used over a wider range of temperatures.
  • Short zips: Short zips are lighter and pack smaller than full zips. A short zip & draft tube is up to 85gm (3oz) lighter than the full version.

900 Fillpower Down

European goose down of very high quality. A truly excellent down with large clusters, consistent quality and lively long-term performance. More on our down insulation.

This bag has an insulating straight wall baffle system throughout (no straight-through stitching). Straight wall is the lightest of all baffle sytems. In cross section it looks like this:

More on sleeping bag construction.

"I just want to say thank you for the speedy service on a Minim 200 sleeping bag I purchased from you only last week, with the added short left zip, I can feel just how good the quality is and can't wait to try it out soon! The factory visit from Petsy in his blog convinced me on just how good your stuff is and I the care and attention that's given from the staff from start to finish. I hope to add more of your products in the future."

"It has been great!"

"I'm very happy with the bag. I used it on a 6 week bike tour in south western USA. Camping and bivvying mostly in the high desert around 5000 feet along with a few nights higher up to over 9000 feet. Great performance for the weight and packed away into a small part of a rear pannier. Overall very happy."

"Like everything else you make, it is superb quality. It's a late spring / summer bag and is used for camping in fairly benign conditions."

"I think the Minim 200 is a great bag for 2-3 day mountain marathons as long as it doesn't go below -4C. The fact that it tends to be part of your sale is an added bonus as it makes your world-class bags available at a lower cost."

"Ideal as a single year-round bag for the UK (when combined with down clothes in a sleep system for winter). 5 stars out of 5."

"Bag performed brilliantly on a 5 month cycle tour. I'm delighted with my purchase, thanks."

"Very impressed. Just what I was looking for in a simple summer-weight sleeping bag. A really lightweight compact bag with no frills that does the job, really impressed. Cannot fault it. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to others. It's pretty much perfect for what I want. A very happy customer."
