Description

Beautifully light and efficient, the Minim range of sleeping bags are selected by light-weight backpackers and marathon racers with a keen eye on weight and pack size.

This special Minim 350 is available in our lightest-ever proofed fabric, Ultrashell, and makes a great choice for anyone looking to extend their camping above the frost line.

This is not a bag we make as standard--you can only buy it via our 'Design Your Own Sleeping Bag' website, where it would cost you £394. That's £100 off.

Technical specifications are as our Minimus bag: no zip, no side-block baffles, no compromise - the nearest thing you can get to carrying just the down.

Made to order and by hand, this bag comes with Short, Standard and Long Length options, as well as Slim, Standard and Wide Width option, so you get the perfect fit and the best possible warmth to weight ratio. And, as we are making these sleeping bags to order, you can select either Short or Full-length side-zips on the left or right sides.

Dispatch time: As with all PHD products, these are made to order and by hand. We estimate it will take us around 4 to 6 weeks to make and dispatch sale orders. During busy periods it may take a little longer.

Technical

Ultrashell (weight: 40gsm)

The lightest of PHD's coated materials. This ripstop nylon provides complete wind block and good water resistance at minimal weight. Ultrashell gives an excellent upgrade to performance with very little weight penalty.

Lightweight M1 fabric (weight: 39 gsm)

Lightweight silky microfibre. This close-weave 20 denier fabric is fully downproof, but also light and flexible enough to allow the down full loft. A reliable performer that has been the basis for much of our lightweight gear for some time.

Sleeping Bag Zips

  • No zip: The standard design on our lightest bags with open hoods. The simplest/lightest system which is a must for adventure racers. Up to 140gm (5oz) lighter than a full zip with draft tube.
  • Full zips: Full zip bags ventilate well, so they can be used over a wider range of temperatures.
  • Short Zips: Short zips are lighter and pack smaller than full zips. A short zip & draft tube is about 85gm (3oz) lighter than the full version.
  • Our full briefing on sleeping bag zips.

900 Fillpower Down

European goose down of very high quality. A truly excellent down with large clusters, consistent quality and lively long-term performance. More on our down insulation.

Construction

This bag has an insulating straight wall baffle system throughout (no straight-through stitching). Straight wall is the lightest of all baffle sytems. In cross section it looks like this:

Reviews

"Excellent sleeping bag, used summer camping in the Alps and in Britain. I tend to sleep cold so this level of warmth was perfect for me for cooler summers, and nice and lightweight to carry, enabling me to easily carry all my backpacking gear in a 35-45litre sack."
Diana

"I was really pleased with the minim 350 bag. Got a great discount in the PHD sale and have never looked back. It's been my go-to bag in the UK in all conditions, and coupled with a down jacket can go down to sub-zero temperatures easily. Also easily coped with a summer trip up in the Andes a couple of years back. I can't fault it really, does exactly what it's meant to at a very low weight. I'd definitely buy another when the time comes for new bag."
James

"Excellent, performs very well and better than previous down bags that we've had from other suppliers such as Mammut and Mountain Equipment."
Mark Wilson & Hilary Lade

"The bag has been used for UK backpacking trips, the TGOC and the Cambrian Way. To date the bag has lived up to its reputation it lofts well and retains it down fill and is superb for UK use, would even consider using on Alpine trips during summer months."
Byron

"The bag is ideal for backpacking given its low weight and bulk. It is also more than warm enough and very comfortable in use. The main benefit of buying the bag in the sale was it allowed us to get a high quality bag, at reasonable cost, tailored to the needs of our 17 year old son who is 6' 8."
Duncan

"I have used the bag quite extensively in a variety of conditions since I bought it: Alpine summer bivvy/camping (with a bivvy bag), the OMM mountain marathon, the Spine Race (with a bivvy bag), and Scottish winter camping (with a 3 season synthetic bag over it). For me, the bag is the right balance between warmth and weight as it's light enough to carry for long multi day things, and warm enough to ensure a decent night's sleep which is important for recovery the next day."
Matt

"The sleeping bag has been excellent. I have used it for long distance walking and backpacking so it gets scrunched up and packed tight on a daily basis. Dampness hasn't bothered it too much, and it's still going. It has lived up to expectations, so very happy with it."
Fiona S

"Great bag. I used it at the Fire and Ice race last year. With temperatures around zero and with high humidity I remained warm while many others didn’t. I would highly recommend it for any other similar ventures! ."
Mark Gilbert, Canada

"I've found it the perfect general purpose sleeping bag. It's not too hot for sleeping on someone's sofa, it packs pretty tiny, and it’s good for 99.9% of southern UK sea-level-ish nights in a tent with clothes on and a decent sleeping pad. So there we go!"
