Description:

With a combination of Primaloft Gold® insulation, water-resistant Ultrashell fabric, light zips, and a simple design, this synthetic-filled Jacket is the right piece of kit when it's going to be cold and damp. The light ripstop Nylon outer fabric provides complete wind-block and good water-resistance and the synthetic insulation performs admirably when wet. The Sigma Jacket's light-weight, small pack size, and wet weather resilience make it an excellent addition to your rucksack in mixed conditions.

The Sigma Jacket is cut long in body to reduce cold air ingress around the lower back, and the long sleeve length offers superb protection during activities, like winter bike rides or icy mountain climbs, where your arms are extended. 

Zipped hand-warmer pockets at the waist provide a superb refuge for chilled hands and the zipped & insulated chest pocket is useful for stashing a GPS. The optional hood provides superb warmth and wind-block.

As with all our Sigma gear, this jacket uses high performance 100g Primaloft Gold synthetic insulation, edge-stitched for maximum loft and therefore maximum warmth.

In our experience the 100gsm Primaloft Gold® synthetic insulation absorbs water much more slowly than other synthetic waddings, a marked advantage in cold, wet conditions.

 

Ultrashell (weight: 40 gsm)

One of the lightest of PHD's coated materials. This ripstop nylon provides complete wind block and good water resistance at minimal weight. Ultrashell gives an excellent upgrade to performance with very little weight penalty.

Lightweight M1 fabric (weight: 39 gsm)

Lightweight silky microfibre. This close-weave 20 denier fabric is fully downproof, but also light and flexible enough to allow the down full loft. A reliable performer that has been the basis for much of our lightweight gear for some time.


Primaloft Gold®

Primaloft Gold® is the ideal microfibre insulation. Ultrafine fibres produce an insulating core that is incredibly soft, lightweight and water resistant. In our experience it absorbs water much more slowly than other waddings, a marked advantage in wet-cold conditions.

The nearest of the synthetics to the feel of down, yet tougher than you would expect. Primaloft Gold® offers the best warmth/weight performance in the Primaloft range
