Peter Hutchinson says:

Technical Note: The Wafer gear did its job, inside the sleeping bag as well as out. I slept OK and jacket and trousers kept me warm setting up the tent in a cold wind and breaking camp next morning.

But when I had to take the dog walkabout in the middle of the night, it would have been a bitter experience without the Wafers. So besides adding warmth inside the sleeping bag, they really proved the comfort value of having warm clothing on already.
