Description:

This K Series product has been created for one single reason, to take warmth-for-weight performance to the limit of what's possible. Unique 1000 down, super-light materials, and specific design features mean that the word Ultralight now applies to this wide range of gear that will take you to the Poles as well as on a Sahara Marathon. More on the K Series...

Also available in custom sizes. We make clothing to order, so if you’re not a standard size we can make it to fit. To order a non-standard custom size, select the Custom Sizing tab, choose your body width, and then the body/arm lengths, shorter or longer, that work for you. A custom size takes us a little longer (typically two weeks longer) to make and, because it’s personalized, it’s non-returnable and our customer loyalty scheme can’t be applied.

This K Series Pullover offers the same performance delivered by the original Yukon design with over 15% weight saving. Warmth is provided by 1000 down in the box-wall construction, while the Ultrashell outer wards off wind and damp. It weighs in at a mere 355gm, but this is one ultralight that is happy to cross over into some really cold conditions.

The remarkable weight and pack-down size of the Yukon make it ideal for lightweight mountaineering, high level trekking, cold races and long distance hiking.

Weighing just 355g complete with hood, it combines a water-resistant Ultrashell fabric outer with a super lightweight 10X fabric inner. Its box wall construction and unique 1000 fillpower down boost its performance well beyond the rest of our ultralight clothing.

The handwarmer pockets are zipped to keep out blowing snow and there is a stretch drawcord in the hem. The insulated chest pocket keeps a GPS (or other battery-operated kit) both warm and easily available. The reflect zip pulls are a safety feature, improving night-time location.

Ultrashell (weight: 40 gsm)

One of the lightest of PHD's coated materials. This ripstop nylon provides complete wind block and good water resistance at minimal weight. Ultrashell gives an excellent upgrade to performance with very little weight penalty.

Ultralight 10X fabric (weight: 26 gsm)

10X, PHD's first 10 Denier Fabric. 9,000 metres of the yarn used to weave 10X weighs just 10g, that's about the same as a £1 coin! For all its thinness 10X is amazingly downproof and with reasonable care will go on giving you good service for years.

1000 fillpower down

This rarest of all downs we reserve for the K Series. European goose down of unique quality. 1000 provides the highest warmth-for-weight performance possible from down. More on our down insulation.

Reviews relate to standard Yukon Pullover, which is 85g heavier

"In wind and snow, I found the Yukon provided superb protection from the elements. While skiing on frigid days with a biting wind, the Yukon kept me toasty warm. I deliberately wore it as an outer layer on snowy and rainy days to test its water resistance; it stayed completely dry inside, and the shell fabric did not wet out. The Yukon is a balancing act of durability, functionality, warmth, fit, and weather resistance ... from a mountaineer's perspective, it is spot on."
Will Rietveld, Backpacking Light.

"Some feedback on the Yukon pullover which we both purchased prior to our annual three month summer alpine trip. Over our months in the Alps we used the Yukon both as our emergency spare belay jacket and as an ultra-light bivvy option. The Yukon smocks performed well above our expectations. The Yukon's warmth to weight ratio was really impressive. So much so that we used it on its own as an ultra-light bivvy (with a half Karrimat, bivvy bag and legs stuffed into our VR smocks and rucksacks!). For high altitude rock and ice routes we often used the Yukon smocks instead of our lightweight alpine sleeping bags and this saved us almost a kilo of weight each! We spent several nights at sub-zero around 4,000 metres with just thermals under the Yukon and yet our upper bodies remained comfortably warm."

"First of all, I must say that I am extremely satisfied with this and other clothing from PHD. After crossing Greenland, being on Baffin, and living an active life in the Northern Part of Norway in the Lyngen alps (also as an semipro guide - hiking peaks in the winter), I must say that I've found my supplier of warm and practical clothing."
Frode H., Norway.

"What an amazing piece of kit! Can't believe how light it is. The workmanship and attention to detail is total quality."
Gareth L., Cardiff.

"The Yukon Pullover arrived today, right before Christmas. And it's great! Can't wait to get it out in the cold ..."
Max Olesko, Austria.

"The Yukon is given an operating temperature of -15 ... I've only had mine since summer and worn it in the UK so far but it's toasty. Last weekend we camped out on Aran Benllyn. Through the evening the temperature in the porch showed about -7 or -8 and I was warm in the tent in a baselayer and the Yukon and some ... softshell trousers ... I don't think I'd reached its limit."

"As my first PHD purchase, I am impressed."
