Description:

Also available in custom sizes. We make clothing to order, so if you’re not a standard size we can make it to fit. To order a non-standard custom size, select the Custom Sizing tab, choose your body width, and then the body/arm lengths, shorter or longer, that work for you. A custom size takes us a little longer (typically two weeks longer) to make and, because it’s personalized, it’s non-returnable and our customer loyalty scheme can’t be applied.

The Taiga Mountain Jacket is a lightweight fleece jacket with superb wind and abrasion resistance. The worse the weather gets the more you'll appreciate this warp-knit fleece, lighter and distinctly more windproof than conventional weft-knit fleeces, and in this Mountain Jacket we have gone a whole step further: the jacket front has a totally windproof dropliner in our lightweight M1 fabric.

Taiga fleece

This warp-knit fleece is primarily for real activity use rather than the street scene, although its comfort and lightness give little indication of its robust performance. It will resist abrasion and cut the wind far better than normal weft-knit fleeces, shrug off a shower and dry very quickly after a soaking. If work or play takes you out into the elements, take Taiga fleece - you'll notice the difference.

This is what Graham Thompson said about this jacket in his Trail Magazine review:

  • "Taiga fleece offers a very high level of windproofness and ideal insulation for hill-walking."
  • "The jacket is a little longer than most, making it ideal for wearing with a harness or rucksack hipbelt, which inevitably cause shorter fleeces to ride up."
  • "The two large chest pockets are ideal for stashing maps, guidebooks or gloves."
  • "Trail rating: 4.3/5"
