Description:

Designed for fast moving expeditions to the highest levels or for any extreme cold weather venture where weight is at a premium, the Xeros pack up to almost nothing. Using Ultrashell fabric and a highly efficient lightweight construction these down socks can be a real boon on expeditions. And they'll double as mitts in a crisis.

Also available in length: long.

As used by Ben Saunders in the Serco TransArctic Expedition, Rosie Stancer, Rosie Swale Pope, in the Yukon Arctic Ultra, and by many others.

Included in Geographical Magazine's 'Ten of the best' list of essentials for keeping "the cold at bay".

Ultrashell (weight: 40 gsm)

One of the lightest of PHD's coated materials. This ripstop nylon provides complete wind block and good water resistance at minimal weight. Ultrashell gives an excellent upgrade to performance with very little weight penalty.

900 Fillpower Down

European goose down of very high quality. A truly excellent down with large clusters, consistent quality and lively long-term performance. More on our down insulation.

Tough waterproof Tempest outer fabric (weight: 160 gsm)

A technically advanced waterproof breathable material. 100% Nylon. Good abrasion and tear resistance, yet offering high flexibility for such a tough material.

"I've just returned from Vinson in Antarctica where your Xero down socks made life a breeze."
Lord Forsyth, former Secretary of State for Scotland.

"The last night camped on the glacier at 4800m was one of the coldest I’ve experienced, -15 C inside the tent, and the Xero down sock (and Rondoy Jacket) were invaluable being worn inside my sleeping bag and helping me have a good night's rest"
John Cameron, Rowaling Valley, Nepal

"[Your] Xero down socks are great."
Ben Saunders.

"The Xero booties were great for sleeping in and I could also wear them inside my Sportivas for mooching around camp. All in all, perfect."
Nick Lewis, Antarctic Logistics.
