Michael Woods became the first Deaf British and European climber to summit Everest on 21 May 2026. During his descent, a communication breakdown left him alone above 8,000m without oxygen for over three hours. Wearing PHD’s Omega Down Suit, Michael stayed protected in extreme cold while exposed and barely moving near the Hillary Step.
