Michael Woods became the first Deaf British and European climber to summit Everest on 21 May 2026. During his descent, a communication breakdown left him alone above 8,000m without oxygen for over three hours. Wearing PHD’s Omega Down Suit, Michael stayed protected in extreme cold while exposed and barely moving near the Hillary Step. In this blog post, we reveal more about what happened – and Michael's next expedition plans.
From leading major Everest teams to supporting Hari Budha Magar’s remarkable Seven Summits journey, Krishna Thapa brings calm judgement to extreme places. Get an insight into the mindset and quiet resilience that Krishna's brings to operating successfully in the world’s highest mountains.
