If ordinary mummy shaped sleeping bags don’t quite match up to your idea of comfort, our range of Greenlandic semi-rectangular bags may be just what you’re looking for. Side sleepers and those who appreciate plenty of manoeuvring space will find these roomy bags less claustrophobic , allowing the independent movement a restless sleeper prefers.
Using all the advantages gained from our exceptionally lightweight 7X fabric, and the benefits of our super high-quality 950 fill power down, these semi-rectangular bags give the efficiency of a superlight mummy sleeping bag with the ease and girth of a quilt . You’ll find no cold air creeping in and no string to set up, just the enclosed warmth, width and wriggle room for a relaxed night .
As with all PHD sleeping bags, the Greenlandic series is made to order, so we can offer plenty of options. To begin with, a combination of 4 different lengths and 4 different widths allows you to get the perfect fit. Primarily this is because poor sizing compromises insulation, but it also means that you carry only what’s necessary.
The outer fabric is water-resistant Ultrashell (condensation can be very heavy inside a tent or bivi) and, because dampness at the foot of a bag is so often the consequence of touching the inside of a tent, an optional waterproof foot cover can be specified for extra protection. This can be sewn on or – so you can detach it and strip the bag right down for super-minimalist overnights – we can make it stud-on: it’s up to you.
The water-resistant Ultrashell inner panels at the head and foot help protect the down from damp, and the internal collar seals in warmth below the neck.
The optional fully waterproof Dri-LX outer provides an extra seam-sealed outer shell to the bag. While a shelled sleeping bag is not designed to be used alone in heavy rain (the hood area is open to the elements) the shell does protect the bag when it is used outdoors without a tent, for example in a snow-hole or under a tarp.
