Description
The Hispar is a truly lightweight down jacket for high mountain use. The push to take increasingly light gear on every kind of route can mean that those difficult decisions between weight and warmth become even more awkward. The Hispar is intended to make them a little easier.
To achieve the finished weight the design has been stripped down to the essentials for a high mountain jacket -- box walls, chest pockets above harness level, an internal water-bottle pocket, and a large peaked hood. The inner fabric is superlight MX: the outer is all water-resistant Drishell.
The use of rare 950 fillpower down allows this jacket to weigh in at 725gm (26oz) while delivering remarkable high mountain performance.

Please note: If you order a custom-sized version of this jacket it will take longer (approximately 45 days) to be manufactured ready for dispatch. Custom-sized versions of this jacket are not returnable and customer loyalty discount cannot be applied.
Technical
Water-resistant Drishell outer fabric (weight: 54 gsm)

Ripstop nylon with an ultralight coating: achieves total windblock, along with high breathability and superior water resistance. Superbly efficient for a very light overall fabric weight.
Superlight MX fabric (weight: 32 gsm)

A mini-ripstop nylon with excellent tear strength, MX is the pick of the superfine 15 denier downproof materials. We have tested lighter fabrics, but most have had significant drawbacks, while our confidence in MX is based on several years of extensive use in both our ultralight and our high mountain gear.
950 Fillpower Down

A newcomer to our range. European goose of rare quality. A high value alternative at the top levels of performance. More on our down insulation.

- The arms of our outdoor jackets are designed to be long enough to keep your wrists warm when your arms are extended horizontally (when using trekking poles, for example) or when you are reaching above yourself (when climbing, for example). Reviews
"For warmth the Hispar Jacket is the lightest I've used."
— Tom Richardson in Climb Magazine.
"The Hispar is a totally amazing jacket. Really surprised by the warmth it offers. Amazing warmth to weight. Used it on 3 Aconcagua expeditions this season and it was just ideal."
— Ben Kane, Guide, Field Touring Alpine.
"It came up the Moonflower with me and I bivied in about -20 degrees C in just the Hispar down jacket and a superlightweight bothy bag and that was fine. The kit is incredibly efficient weight vs warmth. The down that you use is just insane for lofting power."
— Jonathan Griffith using the Hispar Jacket on the Moonflower Buttress in Alaska, USA.
"The Warmth to weight ratio was unbelievable. When the majority of the team were cold I was still unzipped!"
— Nic Bjelic, after summitting Lobuche (6,145m), Nepal.
"The Hispar Jacket and Hispar Sleeping 400 Bag arrived in California yesterday. I'm over the moon to say the least. The build quality is excellent. Consider me a totally satisfied customer, please pass my thanks on to the team."
— Rory Abbott.
"The Hispar jacket has kept me warm in minus 30 C with a warm sweater and thick wool underwear, even when standing still for hours icefishing. So I am very happy with it."
— Jeanette Lykkegard Nielsen using the Hispar Jacket studying reindeer headers on the Kamchatka peninsula, Siberia.
"The Hispar more than lived up to the sky high expectations and has
delivered time and again. I've only worn it in minus 15C so far but even with just a base layer underneath I needed to have the zip halfway down to avoid meltdown! It is a wonderful piece of kit and is worth every penny."
— Marcus P.
"My new Hispar jacket arrived this morning ... it's brilliant thanks and I'm delighted with it."
— Rowan Huntley.
"Great down jacket from the English expert for down clothing, PHD."
— Racelite.com
"Many thanks for rushing the Hispar down jacket through. I certainly needed it. The weather on Ama Dablam was settled but
cold and I would have been stuffed if it wasn't for the jacket."
— Tim Ralph.
"Thank you for the fantastic equipment. Everything (including the Hispar Down Jacket) was above and beyond what was required and fended off the elements perfectly."
— Graham B., on a trip to Aconcagua.
