Description
A lightweight mountaineering and trekking jacket, the Rondoy is designed for climbing, mountaineering, and trekking in the Himalayan six-thousanders, Alpine winters, as well as Andean peaks from Rondoy through to Fitz Roy.
Box-wall construction is used to achieve the -20°C temperate rating. The water- and wind-resistant Drishell outer fabric gives excellent protection to the down in damp, snowy conditions.
Two hand-warmer pockets at the waist, one chest pocket for stashing and quick access to your camera, a helmet-compatible hood, and adjustable Velcro cuffs make this an exceptionally high-specification mountaineering Jacket.
Technical
Water-resistant Drishell outer fabric (weight: 54 gsm)

Ripstop nylon with an ultralight coating: achieves total windblock, along with high breathability and superior water resistance. Superbly efficient for a very light overall fabric weight.
Superlight MX fabric (weight: 32 gsm)

A mini-ripstop nylon with excellent tear strength, MX is the pick of the superfine 15 denier downproof materials. We have tested lighter fabrics, but most have had significant drawbacks, while our confidence in MX is based on several years of extensive use in both our ultralight and our high mountain gear.
900 Fillpower Down

European goose down of very high quality. A truly excellent down with large clusters, consistent quality and lively long-term performance. More on our down insulation.
Waterproof HS2 outer fabric (weight: 88 gsm)

HS2 is PHD's high-spec 2-layer ripstop for waterproof outers on our down. It is light enough to be the optional taped shell on our sleeping bags and tough enough for expedition use in our Omega clothing. HS2 is completely waterproof (when the seams are taped) and offers excellent breathability.

"I summited Elbrus with the help of your Rondoy jacket - made the 17 hour summit day very comfortable indeed!"
— Leigh Peterson.
"Tweaked for this year with two waist-level hand-warmer pockets making it a little more versatile than it's harness-friendly predecessor. Good news for high altitude trekkers taking in the night sky from outside the tea house we reckon. There's also a new two-way main zip to allow for easier use with a climbing harness."
